United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
Fog light installation

Hi all, my beloved 2014 sd4 GS, is missing a few styling items. One of which being fog lights. I'd like to add them for both styling and additional visibility on the dark roads on winter.

My understanding is that I do not have any existing wiring as there are also no front parking sensors. I'm ok mechanically, but electrics scare the Censored daylights out of me, could anyone shed some light on retrofitting and wiring in some fog lights, (easy to follow wiring diagrams in layman's terms). I've seen the osram ones that are drl and fog light 2in1 type and I like the idea of two in one.

I'd appreciate any input and guidance on the matter as ideally I'd like to do the work myself.

Photo for reference

A 'fog light' search came up with this topic:

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic30584.html

'on a 2014 MY you would need the new left hand headlight stalk as the fog lights are on a twist switch instead of the pre 2013MY which had the lights all grouped together on the right hand side of the dashboard. The 2014 GS without front fogs will only have the twist switch for the rear fogs on the left hand stalk. You will also need the software modifying in some way to enable the front fogs........ and that's IF the wiring loom is there in the first place.' Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

above is an illustration of what bezels and lamp units you need.

What I can not find at the moment is the stalk switch and loom you need, will keep looking.
