I have a problem with aisin gearbox in my 08 freelander 2
When I start cold car and drive, gears start to slipping and sometimes jerking
But when I preheat the car before I go, then the automatic shifts normally

Diagnostic write this faults:

As I have read my free2 subject to the Service action q59 and q106 because
The cars VIN nr is H126544
But I can’t search mention in service history about this...
Mielage is about 180k km

Silly question but here goes - when was the oil last changed?

75K miles (120,000km) is about as far as I would push the oil in an 08 auto gearbox, also it has been in there a long time.
The box is sensitive to the correct grade of oil, so if it has been changed was the right grade of oil used?

Note dropping the oil out of the drain is not an oil change, you will need to drop the oil out of the drain, refill, warm up the gear box and repeat about 6 times to get the majority of the oil out. Or you could find a specialist who can do a full change with a machine that lets the old oil out while filling with new while the engine is running.

As an experiment, first undo the filler, then drop out the oil from the drain and check the colour, bright red is good, dark red or brown is too late. I said undo the filler first as it can be difficult, and you really don't want to take oil out of the gearbox without the ability to replenish it. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

The former owner claimed that he changed the oil cca in 80000 miles but I don’t have any document so I am not sure if he made it or not

Too late means some damage will have been done.
I didn't change mine until 120,000 miles and she had started the odd harsh change. Did another at 150,000 miles just to clear out any debris (burnt clutch linings etc). At 180,000 miles she had started to play silly devils when towing at high speed, up steep hills with 1,500kg of caravan on the back - think Pyrenees and 70mph. still OK solo.
It was time for a gearbox change/overhaul, I was recovering from a heart bypass and so was unable to do it myself, the family convinced me to get rid of the car - big mistake, a decision I regret every day since. Should have bought a Disco Sport and kept the Freelander for weekends. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Update:
I changed the oil 2 weeks ago but there has been still the fault for a week. At the moment gear change is ok but sometimes I can feel vibration when I go uphill. The sequential gear change still says “a violent gear change”.
Is necessary to adaptation the control unit AT after oil change? At the service they didn’t do that.

Any ATF will do that meets JWS 3309 or 3324 depending on age . Its in your user manual.

Yes Im sure thats correct.

Mine had a noticeably smoother gear change when I changed the ATF at 5 years and 40K miles. Did serial exchanges (drain/ refill/circulate/drain etc ) until about 90% of old ATF removed. I did 4 exchanges (calculated based on a total gearbox ATF volume of 7L and a drain vol of 3L) Jules

Hello again, I still have problems with the automatic. A company changed the oil (it is named LR002748). Unfortunately, I can’t find out how much they put there.

From the upper part of the automatic we can heard this strange sound:



Should I check any cables, fuses or relay, which could make that?

The automatic sorts normally and I do not feel any changes in gear change.
