Just can't say goodbye.

We've all had this chat a million times on here, about thinking it's time to move on as your FL2 is getting a bit tired etc. I'm at that point today again. The back passenger window fell inside the door yesterday and is currently being held up by duct tape until I get a chance to dismantle the door and sort it.

A bit of me just thought for sods sake, I can't be bothered with this. Stuff is just going to keep breaking.

But then I thought, I love my FL2 because it costs me nothing except repairs and maintenance, unlike a new car which will be many £100s per month. If I need to throw something in the car that leaves a mark, or whatever, it doesn't really matter. I don't like being precious with things I see as being a tool to daily life.

So, I'm gonna sort the window and carry on driving until the next thing breaks and then I'll come back and have a moan about it being time to change 😂😂 FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I know where your coming from Bud,
I thought I had made the decision last winter...new year = newer car,
but then with lock down etc etc we've had another rethink and have now reach
the point of keeping the Freelander for as long as feasible (given the market at the moment)
for me there isn't a direct replacement and we've always found the freely far more comfortable
than later motors, so it's keepers for now,
we love it that much I've even brought her a new steering wheel.... Shocked Laughing

I want to buy lots of toys for it too, but I fear I'd be better saving my money for the bits that will need fixed soon! 10 years old in December, 80k mile on the clock, new transfer box, throttle body, clutch/dmf and a reconditioned diff. It's really just the Haldex, gearbox and engine to fail now and I've got a new car 😂😂😭😭 FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I personally think mine was a bit of a lemon. Bought it at 4 years old approved from an LR dealer. Thankfully some of that stuff was under warranty.

But I sometimes wonder if I'm doing something to bring on all these faults 😂😂🔥 FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Depreciation on a new car will be a lot more than repairs on an old car. If you have plenty of spare cash then why not get a new one, but I wouldn't borrow. In the meantime save for a new one. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Exactly, even the newest ones are getting on and before you know it you've got the same issues. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
