Energy supplier

Im currently with Symbio - electricity only (no gas or mains sewerage here) and pay £760 per years for about 6000KWh. I need to renew soon and the cheapest I can find is over £900 - an 18% or more increase.

Has anyone else found their electricity bill has shot up ?

Any supplier recommendations ? Jules

We were with Green Network for 18 months (been OK), a darn site cheaper at the beginning than Scottish power, but have switched last week to igloo as they were cheaper - no fixed term contract, so if it goes up just switch. Our usage is a little more than yours 11,500KWh electric and 23600KWh gas this comes in at £2,183 a year.

I blame SWMBO for setting the heating at 25C, she blames me for the hot-tub (39C) and pond pumps 2x200W 24hrs a day every day. We both blame our son, because he leaves every light in the house on all day every day.

And before you ask it's a small 3 bed semi. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I may be looking soon myself. Currently with Robin Hood Energy who have been great but now appear to be destined to shut up shop.

Hopefully, there will be a managed exit from the energy market by Nottingham City Council (owners) with an announcement timely enough to allow us to choose a new supplier without Ofgem bunging us to a supplier of last resort. The one time that happened we were shifted to Scottish Power - I couldn’t stomach a repeat of that appalling experience. Took the better part of a year to finally be shot of them in terms of accurate billing and transferred credit.

Have a look at the Switchcraft site - comparison site, but they do all the leg work and such. Was with EON for dual fuel, which for a long while was the best deal going, they then found a new British Gas deal, saving £25pm.

Hi,
we are currently with Bulb, but they keep messing the readings up and Censored our account up Rolling Eyes

looking at Utility point as a bit cheaper rate

but

as Bulb keep giving us credits for all the Censored ups they make we might stick with them and taking the ££££

which ever you decide to go with ask on here first to see if anyone has a Refer a Friend code varies £25-£50 each then

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!

Check out Octopus Energy. Can't compare prices right now as at work, but I've been with them for a few years and consistently the cheapest. Also excellent service. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

only just noticed your usage Jules, dont think you will get any where that rate now, but let us know how you get on Whistle

We use about 3000Kwh (as you no gas or mains drains) and currently about £500, best so far for us if we change is £460ish

Use about 33000 gas and 6000 lecy at about £1500/year with Peoples Energy but post codes seem to effect prices, being in Jockland and PE are an Edinburgh company it may vary. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.
