Marmite Steps!

Yes I know some love them some hate them, I fell inbetween and remained undecided, then after having my Haldex repaired which was a lot cheaper than the expected £1100 replacement bill (Thanks to the super team at Bell Engineering) I then dropped on a bargain, brand new in a box side steps that the owner bought in May never fitted and now sold the car on, I paid £65 which was a big drop in the retail price. Today they went on after a full service by my excellent independent garage man. We had a game to fit the nearside due to the brackets being a bit out but all on and looking fine, I think I really need to get some window deflectors now though as driving back after the rain I opened the window and got soaked!! I did previously buy Wind Deflectors but I broke the passenger front one trying to fit it in the window channel Sad So its the powerfulUK stick on ones I think next time. Anyway a couple of pics of the sidesteps fitted, like I say some like some don't, the car sadly was cleaned on Sunday but after todays rain and messing about it needs another going over Very Happy

Sidesteps look great, what a bargain for £65, car is a brilliant colour as well.
We fitted the Powerful UK wind deflectors stick on ones which work great, we have the Heko wind deflectors on our two Volvo's, must say the stickon ones are much easier to fit and no clips that keep dropping out.
Cheers

I've always liked the look of side steps. Not sure I need them, but they look nice. For £65 I'd have them too. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I would rather have Marmite than side steps anyday. Laughing

I had steps on mine when I had it but there’s one problem which you will find with them - you seem to end up with mud on the back of your trouser calf’s unless you are very, very careful when getting out. Evil or Very Mad Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Agree with the splendid colour - not had steps since my first two Honda CRVs. As steps they were totally pointless but at the time they were unusual and thus made the car look 'individual'.

These days I prefer my cars to be more or less 'as built' but happily, we are each to own.

Agree - they appear to remove the advantage of the recessed sills Jules

Well like I say side steps certainly start a conversation Laughing

I only have so far one issue that the rear NSR door rubber at the bottom drags on the top of the tread of the side step when closing, despite messing about with the fixings for some time! I will have to take it all off and start again I think and see if I can find whats the cause, bloody side steps who suggested them Laughing Laughing Laughing 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4
