Price Quoted

"We Buy Your Car" offered me £8000 for my 2012 Freelander 2 in fairly good condition with a true mileage of 40080. What do you think ?

I think whatever condition the car is in they will lower the price drastically as soon as they see it,it’s how these companies operate.

I think why would you give away a 2012 Freelander 2 with only 40,000 miles away for peanuts.

They offered me £450.00 for my wife's Volvo V50 T5 years ago, traded it in for £2500.00 after I had haggled the price down ....Would not trust them. Common sense isn't very common.

Price seems reasonable if you need the cash urgently, or don't want the hassle of advertising it.

As someone else mentioned the price may get marked down if issues found.

Bite their hand off, that's a reasonable cash price.

They will have no intention of paying that price.

Yep I agree, I would eat my hat if they stick to that price, we buy any car is for people in desperation! Avoid selling premium vehicles to them as they will rib you, sell them the cr4p we don't want the guilt of selling to an honest person!

It’s pretty simple really , they either hand over enough cash for the seller to be happy , or the seller drives away , there is nothing lost , but time , in going to the face to face . Of course no one will make a binding offer based on a description of a vehicle , and of course they will try to obtain the vehicle at the lowest cost , but so do we when we go to buy one . At the end of the day selling old cars is a headache at and “ We Buy “ offer an easy no risk way of disposing of it . Personally I hate selling cars to individuals, you never know who’s going to be knocking on the door , 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

Another way to look at it is every car has an end value, sell you car privately you can receive the end value in your pocket, sell to trade or part ex the trader has to make his bit so end value minus so margin for him, sell to we buy they have to make a margin selling to trade, then trade have to make money selling to end user, we buy therefor needs to acquire the car at a price which has enough room for 2 profits to be made!

Hi,
as said above ^ there is No one right answer Confused

Its your situation, do you want peeps calling at your house, do you want another car so p/ex, are you wanting to buy private.

end of they day like they say (who the fudge are They Question )

If Your happy with £8k take it, move on and do what you have planned next

If your Not happy with it Dont book the appointment Thumbs Up

That must be the going rate for an expected auction sale less their bit of profit Shocked

(if you are happy with it try EvansHalshaw they dont tend to knock you on price ours went up Very Happy ) .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

I went in to WBAC yesterday after they offered £6500 on my 13 plate GS. The guy looked all over it and found some very light corrosion on a couple of alloys and a very light scratch that would buff out with T Cut and the offer was.... £4900. He said he could phone his boss and the offer 'might' go up to £5500. I said no and he virtually threw my stuff at me saying 'We're a car trader mate what did you expect?". The worst bit was he repeatedly asked me to come into his tiny cabin which I repeatedly refused as I wouldn't have been 2 metres away, he went round the car licking his finger and rubbing at the bodywork about 20 times THEN got in and touched everything. Total Censored Censored

Several years ago I took my 7 year old BMW E91 to WBAC (its not far from where we shop). Was offered a low offer so I said no and went home to think about it. I rang them a week later and they offered me an even lower offer. So I put it on Gumtree and sold it within 24hrs for 2K more than WBACs and bang on the Honest John valuation. Jules
