Best AT tyre

When I find the fl2 will probably need to put AT tyres on, On my L200 I have always used the general grabber AT2 as on 18 iinch, always fancied the Bf Goodrich but not in my size

SO. what tyres are good for the FL2, suppose best sticking to 17 inch wheels to be more cost effective

Unless you are unhappy with the Generals, I'd say they are a good shoes for the FL2.

There have been a few threads here:
https://www.freel2.com/forum/search.php?se...rch_time=0

I'd say, from memory, the General AT2s have had good feedback from many users on this forum. So many personal factors, price point, performance, look, etc...... For me, I need dedicated winter tyres as I live rural and the winters here are brutal. I have also use Kuhmo AT51 (on a past 4X4) and have been happy with the price point, esthetics, M&S performance but they are better tyres for say ice....I'd say the Generals are a good tyre at a good price point. BFGs can be pricey IMO. Toyos are also a fine brand.

Thanks, I live in Scottish Borders 3 miles up in the hills and the track can be bad at time especially if snow drifts

I just know the guy working on estate has bf Goodrich on a Toyota high lux and he goes off the track to places I wouldn’t dream of, I cringe where I see him going

Hilux is a NA 4Runner, I owned a 3rd generation 4R for a long time. Better ground clearance, true 4 wheel drive (has a low 4 setting and maybe even a RR diff lock. More of a pure 4X4. I have never owned BFGs nor Generals but I am sure there are members on the forum who have owned both & can give a side by side comparison. Thumbs Up

Thanks, sounds like 4 runner set up is more like my Mitsubishi l200 I have a rear diff lock

Wonder if maybe going to be dissapointed on the fl2

I don’t understand these 4wd options Smile I just want something to get me home, the farmer uses a Suzuki jimny for lamping

But has bought himself a Range Rover evoque but that never sees the track it’s for Sunday best Smile

Just ordered the at3 for my fl2, I have the at's on my disco and live them, also my father in law has at3 on his XC60 and he thinks they are great, very low noise, good road handling along with good off road grip.
Also we'll worth noting that a lot of ATS and MTS are speed rating of 99mph where as the GG are 130.
