Clunk when engaging Drive......

Hi all

Noticed a new issue with my 2013 FL2 (auto)yesterday....

When parked if I move the gear selector from Park to Drive, the car lurches/jerks as it engages the gear. Driving is totally fine with no hiccups, but if I also move the selector from Reverse into Drive the same lurch/jerk happens.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

Apologies if this is a dumb question!! Very Happy

Yes you have seen it? Any ideas of the cause/fix?

The only auto box I have regularly driven (Not FL2 - mine is a manual) did this - is it not a feature of Autoboxes? 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

OK - doing it with ferocity does not sound too good - what is the mileage and has Trans fluid/filters been changed? 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

Well its enough of a jolt to feel it in every seat and hear it from the outside.

Mileage is 70k and I THINK the trans fluid MIGHT have been done 6 months ago when I got the vehicle
Probably wasnt done by the dealer with hindsight!

Hopefully someone will be along with more experience of the auto boxes on FL2s - but changing the fluid and filters made a big difference to my Jeep Grand Cherokee... 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

It could be the same underling problem for which it was released the LTB00782. Search the forum for it.
You may need a software update, for a temporary fix or a change of seals inside the box - a more definitive solution.

Or it could be a problem of the valve block.

Or it could be a low oil level. Because the oil level, if not done properly, it could lead to a short of aprox. 1l of oil.

Or a clogged filter which will lead to low pressure at idle...

Or...

The problem appears always or at a certain engine/box temperature?
Only once, at daily car startup or during the day too?
