STEERING WHEEL WORN

Another steering wheel gripe my 2009 HST wheel centre body where the airbag sits below has a curve at the very top as it curves over to keep it neat somehow it has lifted about half an inch and does not look very good .
apart from getting another airbag or steering wheel from fleabay does anyone have some thoughts please?

cheers

Welcome to the club, an awful lot of the steering wheel airbags "lifted" on the top edge , some were changed under warranty.

The only option seems to be change the airbag, modifying it seems risky, as it is designed to explode in a specific manner. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

As it is classed as dangerous goods, what do you reckon.

Give your local vehicle dismantlers/breakers/wreckers a call & see if they’ll take it.

They’ll probably sell it on! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
171037Km as of 09/05/22
Superchips Bluefin Flash
Nanocom Evo II (also sold)

Hang it on the back fence and use it for target practice?
Put it in the chiminea, light the fire and stand well back?
Gaffer tape the air bag to the steering wheel of a Defender - softer than hitting the centre boss
put two long leads to the squib and attach to a battery?

or take it to the local "recycling centre" (they used to be called Tips) and put it in the cage with all the other dangerous stuff like gas bottles. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I'm liking the target practice idea. That's what happens to the expired fire extinguishers from work... Although don't tell HR

I have only got a catapult don't think that will work Wink
might try our local "recycling centre and ask one of the "recycling technicians" what to do that assuming I can get them out of their portacabin
Or next door have a chimnea Shocked Thumbs Up
