I booked an appointment for a Haldex to be fitted at Bell today, got there nice and early and met up with Austen who was dubious about the Haldex due to the very low mileage of 16k. Long and short of it it seems my car has some history... I bought it in 2018 and it was built in 2014 in the short time between the car coming out of warranty and the non JLR dealer I bought it off, the Haldex and pump had been replaced. Within 12 months of owning the car the Haldex grabbing issues etc showed. Austen is a guy I cannot speak highly enough of, he could have just popped in a new Haldex charged the money I was expecting to pay, but no he spent 5 hours stripping testing and I left with a new set of Haldex Clutch Plates and car not grabbing anymore, oh and a bill a fair bit cheaper than I was expecting. Hopefully it will be good but I know Haldex issues seem to be ever present on these cars so we shall see.

When you pull away with the front wheels aiming left or right, so pulling out of a side road onto a main road, you feel like your on gravel as the wheels skip a bit, this gets worse and you feel a grabbing effect, judder.. Anyway this goes away as soon as you move so only lasts a few seconds, believe its the Haldex which controls when the drive goes to the rear wheels not releasing smoothly. 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

Interesting. First time I've seen it mentioned here. No doubt my FL2 will have those symptoms any day now 🤣🤣

A quick search on Haldex will point out lots of posts, hope you never have the issue, some never do others seem to have quite a bit of trouble, but Bell Engineering are worth contacting if you do 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4
