Not loving the fake wood trim stuck over everything - how naff

I sold my last 08 plate one last year for £4000 with 98k on the clock, I though that was reasonable.

Same site values my 2014 Metro at 47kmiles at £15500, private sale.

That's 6 years old, I would expect if most cars loose half their value every 3 years, that makes me believe that by 13 years old mine will be worth less than £4000 private. (or lucky to get £3000 exchange)

The problem is what a Freely 2 is worth and what it sells for in the UK are two different things, a 2007 in Cyprus is still over €10k, my 2012 is between €16k to 18k. Won't be bringing it back as I will still have change buying a 2015 HSEover here. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Are you working in Cyprus for HM Government? That will make a difference to how you see things.

Many years ago, whilst working in Germany, I had the luck to buy a car tax free. The perk was made even better by the UK dealer giving me an extra 16% discount, and part exchanging my old car for a reasonable price (unseen).

It allowed me to go up a level from a Vauxhall Viva to a Victor Estate. My best bargain ever.

Looks in good condition but like already mentioned the wood dash is a bit naf.

Mine is 2007 SE with only 50,000 miles & is very very nice condition, hardly a mark on it

We Buy Any Car values it about £4600 last time I looked a month or so ago. would hope to get £5000 to £5500 for it if I decided to sell.

It does seem a bit of a buyers market & so get what you can. Seen some lovely motors for sale on here & quite surprised how little they go for.
I have thought about maybe selling mine & getting a 2013 or 2014 model but the price difference is quite high & to be honest I would not gain that much apart from a few upgrades & Euro 5 (mines 4).

I do look at mine & think why bother at 50,000 & lovely condition what would I really gain. Most of the 2013 or 2014 cars have a higher mileage than mine.

Ian, my wife is a civil servant on a 4year contract, we already owned our car when we went out, the prices I was quoting were trade and private adverts, the last one I looked at was a100,000miler 2013 SE at €16500 with a not so good MOT history, out here it pays to check the original registration as write offs of any description are not recorded here. The duty free system is only on new cars and selling it in Cyprus at the end of tour or contract the Cypriot government will ensure the taxes you pay to sell it duty paid is in excess of the original retail UK list price. Due to Cypriot tax changes on VED the Freely now incurs an annual rate of over €1000, whereas one imported before 2020 is only €280. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

He will be extreamly lucky to sell that, bought a 2008 HSE with 155k a few weeks ago, in decent condition (few. niggly bits) FSH etc for £3.2k so £10k is a mighty ask. Dave
