Towing kit compatibility

Does anyone here know if the VPLFT0106 towing wiring kit for the Freelander 2 will also work on a US LR2? I can easily rewire my trailer for this, as it used to be wired for Germany. 2008 US LR2 SE, 6-cyl gas
