Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Indus Silver
Turbo Fault(s)

Hi Guys,

My 2014 FL2 went into limp mode on the way home from queuing for toilet paper.

Got the following fault codes:-

P0046
P0047
P0048
P0102
P0110
P259E

Cleared the codes and took another reading, and P0102 & P0110 disappeared but the others were still there.

Did a bit of investigation and found a cracked hose between the Cat & the sensor module, so replaced it with what hose I had, (see pictures) but still getting the P46, P0047 & P0048 fault codes.

I can't see any other visible external damage to any hoses etc, but I'm wondering if some crap has got in and the sensor may need cleaning or replacing.
Also not sure if this would cause temporary or permanent damage, or maybe it's a red herring and the fault(s) lie elsewhere.
Also wondering if maybe my cheap £4 Chinese OBD2 tester isn't able to clear certain faults, and might be time to invest in something like an Icarsoft scanner?
Having just been furloughed from work on Friday due to the Coronavirus lockdown, I've got the time to tinker with it, but don't want to spend dealer money fixing it with all the uncertainty about, unless absolutely necessary.

Any help or ideas welcome.

Cheers

Iain

When mine went into limp mode I also got the P0046 code from AA. I was lucky enough to have the Approved Warranty so the car got a new turbo fitted. I believe others on here have been able to resolve this without a new turbo. I think it was just easier for the dealer to replace it rather than spend time messing about with it. You should use the search function and hopefully find an answer.

You really need the extra 2 digits at the end. They really do make all the difference when it comes to diagnostics Thumbs Up

Does the Icarsoft reader give those extra 2 digits Mikey?
