I'm finding the front seats in my '13 HSE Lux a bit uncomfortable for long journeys. The squabs are small front to back and the back bolsters are small and don't hold me in very well. Trouble is, I love the car's other aspects, space, visibility etc., so not keen to change it.

Do any members know if any other LR seats (e.g Disco or Evoque) fit the Freelander 2 frames?

Perhaps but I have to say Ive done 400 mile days in mine towing the caravan up and down France and never once though the comfort of the seats was an issue.  Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Lightwater, actually, yes! I’m not sure whether your figures are miles or km, but since late December I’ve done Inverness-shire to London (535 miles/850km) and back and Inverness-shire to Herefordshire (500 miles/800km) and back. Day-trips down to Glasgow (400 miles/600km round trip) are just routine. Most summers I holiday near Nice and do the outward journey of 1450 miles (2,300 km) in three days. Admittedly these are all on surfaced roads, but having spent too much time on third-World roads (some of which was in the days before LR introduced coil springs) my back isn’t as forgiving as it used to be! 🙂 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

The longest non stop trip other than fill the tank (& empty the other tank) I've done was Adelaide to Sydney 1400km in 13 hours, decades ago. These days it's too costly! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

There is no doubt that the FL2 is comfortable for long journeys, just that the seats could be slightly better. Before the FL2, I was doing these journeys in the 110 and latterly, even on the Glasgow to Inverness run, I found that if I didn’t stop and properly stretch my legs I arrived home pretty much knackered. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

I do find now on longer journeys my lower back aches far more than it used to......but then I'm
a lot older now.

Meanwhile back off-topic... I suspect there are a variety of seat-types out there and they may vary in their support and comfort. I think it was Lightwater who recently posted photos showing the front seats folded forward - I can’t find any way of doing this on mine, so any tips on where the adjustment is on yours would be welcome. Folding the passenger seat forward would make it possible to carry longer items that I just can’t get in to the vehicle at present. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
