So we only have the one key fob. And that one just went for a swim....
It will still start the car in the dock, but won't lock or unlock or do any other thing it used to do.
I soldered in a new battery and it worked for a few minutes but now it's dead again.
What is the consensus on getting new Fobs for these 2007 model.
I can get a 433MHZ new transponder in a case from ebay for $40, has anyone bought one of these and successfully had it programmed to your car?

Have you tried removing the battery & washing it in metho, the alcohol will help evaporate remaining water. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Slight variation on the above, dismantle, remove battery and scrub the PCB with a toothbrush and isopropanol or meths as suggested above. Look for "salty" areas of electrolysis and try to clean off as much as you can. Then put somewhere warm and dry for a few days before you reinsert the battery - this is important to get the water out from underneath IC's etc.

I used to do a lot of servicing in nightclubs where tech equipment regularly got drinks poured into it and we resurrected a lot of stuff this way. Sometimes we put things through a dishwasher before drying. There was a touch-panel lighting controller called the Pulsar Masterpiece which even had washing instructions silk screened on the back of it.

I bought 2 for the Jap import we bought in NZ. Had them programmed locally by a locksmith and work fine. I think I remember reading about a locksmith in Brisbane who advertised programming LR key fobs.
