I am also trying to keep my isolated 88 year old aunt supplied which is not easy, I tried 5 shops the other night because she wanted some milk & I could not get any, how & why on earth would you need to hoard milk. Its at times like this people show how really selfish they are.

I am rural and a bit up the street from me I have a policeman neighbour that moved in about a year and a half ago. I can see the end of his driveway from a window and noticed about two weeks ago he got a delivery of two freezers, I took note. He obviously was getting ready for what he was told was/is coming.

Lots of generators in my area.......for years. There was a power failure many years back that lasted about 10 days, luckily it was in the summer.
Lots of people have also stocked up on gas.

How about this for an idea? Supermarkets get rid of (chain up) their large shopping trolleys and allow shopping with the smaller hand baskets only. Wouldn't completely stop panic buying but would limit the volume people could buy in one go. I've emailed my MP to suggest he puts this to the CEOs of the big supermarkets.

As if Coronavirus wasn't enough!

Jubilation over much needed rain in central west Queensland has turned to disappointment as graziers watch their paddocks being devoured, helpless to stop it.

For the second year in a row, an infestation of grasshoppers has hit the Winton region.

The plague is so bad in some places the grasshoppers have chewed chair legs and demolished books inside a homestead.

I can see an issue there, the kind of people your trying to restrict will just go around again and again until their boot is full, and even worse it means they will be spending more time in the supermarket.

You have to realise we are dealing with complete morons. Regards

David

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

Pretty draconian, allocate your driver's licence or ID card to 1 supermarket, 1 pharmacy etc for purchasing! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The UK wimped out on ID cards due to the fear the "Civil Liberties" moaners would vote for a different political party.

Costco are restricting purchases over time using their membership cards. Perhaps all those supermarket loyalty cards could be used to same effect? Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Just seen a couple using a wheelbarrow to get there shopping home.

Been into asda and they have lot of stock back in including paracetamol and people shopping normally. Common sense isn't very common.

Lot of great ideas out there, such as don't panic buy, but as BoxBrownie said there's always that element of morons who don't give a Censored and two-finger everyone else.
