United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver
Couldn’t resist buying another ....

We’ve had our 2007 HSE for 3 years or so now and I’ve spent a lot of time and a quite a bit of cash getting it looking great and mechanically sound and really enjoy working on it . My mrs drives it every day and loves it and so I have to use our little Audi A1 as my daily driver and although it’s modern and pretty quick we always go out in the freelander when together . Been looking at what I could swap the Audi for and after nothing really took my fancy I came across a 2009 freelander xS auto in an auction with 69000 miles on in Lago grey with a damaged tailgate and ended up buying it .. didn’t even go to see it but for £1500 It’s going to be my project to bring it back to top condition and use it daily. Probably need the usual things like a throttle body, door locks ,Diff ,remote fob battery etc and full service but looking forward to doing all these things and if it’s not great I will take it off roading and have some fun with it something I won’t do in the other one . Should be delivered by weekend then me and mrs will have one each ... it will feel weird

Freel2 needs to modify the website so you can display 2 cars.

I have thought if we ever needed a second car, there is nothing out there which we like & would consider another Freelander.

Hopefully your new car has non poodle 17" wheels. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

South Africa 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Orkney Grey

Welcome to the club of two Freelanders!
After our first trip with the Freelander, towing an off-road caravan through some pretty deep sand, I was very impressed - so much so that when another Freelander came up for sale at our local JLR dealer, we bought the second one!
Never regretted it and enjoy them immensely.
Enjoy!

Is the Audi still going or is it being kept while you repair the new F2? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Well project freelander was delivered today and after a quick look over and putting on a fully charged battery seems to be a really good buy no obvious major problems everything works as it should . Looks like it has been well looked after and I was amazed to find it has 4 brand new Pirelli scorpion tyres on it as well new front discs and pads . Managed to find a tailgate to replace damaged one and it’s in the same colour off a 2011 year so has the chrome handle so well chuffed and when I went to collect it managed to get a roller blind load cover too . Looking fwd to the weekend now to fit tailgate and have a thorough check over ....

I would be very pleased also if the 2011 tailgate was the same colour as the original body colour of a 2007

It's only when you put the tailgate on and close it will the colour be known.

Looks like a good find though. Thumbs Up

Well finally finished and on the road really pleased with it and surprised how different they both drive yet both same engine/ gearbox newer one does feel smoother maybe it’s the bigger wheels . Just one niggle with rear parking sensors constant beep yet no fault codes and I think EGR or exhaust manifold must have a slight leak as it smells a bit of fumes in engine bay and cabin . Also thinking of changing inlet manifold to get rid of swirl flaps .
