It really is down to driving style
Our 2008 FL2 auto averaged 28-30mpg over 180k miles, the best ever going home from work (40 miles, 30 of which are motorway was 48mpg)

The 2016 DS auto D180 was averaging 37mpg over 50k miles - best ever 56mpg
The 2018 DS auto D230 (D240?) is averaging 35mpg over 6k miles - best ever 51mpg

I do drive quickly on the motorway, accelerate as hard as possible and brake very hard (both DS warped front discs, FL2 20k average on rear pads) Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Yup, still have my 2007 from new. LHD and kept out in Spain. Very, very few problems, can only think of one rad hose leakage offhand. Serviced every year including the painful 10 yr one. 2007 FL2 SE Diesel Auto
