Hi all.
The pic is of the power steering pipe that commonly corrodes. Anyone know how the 2 pipes come apart? I’ve tried pulling, pushing and twisting and it won’t budge! Any tips?
Car is a 2009. Cheers.

The black collar slides upwards, and release the clips inside the HP pipe

Little fiddly, especially when corroded, but they do come apart

I had to buy both when doing mine. Others did also. Another thread on here somewhere that I used. Silver 2009 HSE

Hi all. I’ve just replaced the power steering pipes, from the pump to the rack including the spaghetti of pipes that corrodes.
when I took the old pipes off a little one way valve fell out.... can anyone tell me which round it goes and which hole it fell out of - top or bottom?

(I took the pipes off last night and am refitting today and can’t remember which hole it came out of or which way round!)

Just checked the ones I took off. No sign of any valve.

Thanks for the info... there was a small metal disc fell out which is the one way valve

I’ve just had the pleasure of noticing an empty power steering reservoir and a large puddle under the car.

After taking off the under tray I think I’ve managed to locate the route cause.
Before I take it to the garage could someone advise if this part can be brought and replaced by myself or will the complete rack need replacing?
