JLR Service records

I have been offered a decent FL2, but the service record is, to say the least "interesting".

Does "New/Used Preparation for sale" include a service, oil change, change of brake fluid, new flexible hoses as appropriate?

If so presumably I need a copy of the invoice to prove it has been done.

What about servicing the Haldex which doesn't seem to be listed by JLR.

Hi

Before you can be advised on the questions asked you would need to advise the following so you can get constructive answers.

Which model are you looking at?
Date registered & mileage?
Is it being bought from a official Land Rover dealer? Other brand franchised dealer? Used car dealer? Or private?

Hi,
if you contact the last dealer who serviced the car ,they will be able to give you a copy of the invoice or at least talk to you about it.
worked for me, and easy to do.
cheers.

I bought my FL2 from an independent dealer, and they had it checked by the AA, but it was not serviced as not due for one.
Unless there is an issue then best left alone in my opinion.

JLR dont do any preventative maintenance on the PTU, gearbox, Haldex or rear diff until its 10 years old. Jules

Hi

Based on the information you supplied, I would think that it would get:-

Pre sales check i.e. Lights and levels oil and filter changed only if service due and most likely not genuine parts oil must be Engine C1 5w-30 spec Castrol Edge Professional according to LR or meet Ford WSS-M2C934-B, ACEA C1 now latest spec ST JLR 03.5005 due to DPF

I would doubt that they would change the brake fluid or brake Pipes 55k falls between services, being 15k or every year.

Haldex is not a service item according to LR but many on here have changed the oil and filter as a preventive measure. As well as the rear differential and PTU box.
