Dash cam install tips

I am going to buy a dashcam with vouchers I got, I've decided on a series 2 next base with rear camera as well
Does anybody have any tips on cable routing for front to rear camera (6m of cable to play with) and power pick up point using a hardwire kit, ie a fuse point not the cigarette lighter point. The camera pops off the mount magnetically leaving the wiring attached to the mount.
I'm assuming top of both screens for mounting.
thanks in advance
Nick

Haven’t done it with the nextbase but recently with a 2 camera blackvue set up.... start from the back camera and when placing it ensure it sits within the rear wiper blade sweep.... otherwise you’ll film nothing on a rainy day...

Check the coax wire and carefully feed the straight connector end (if different, they are on a Blackvue) the the plastic tailgate surround and then through the top rubber grommet....take your time doing this but if you persevere you won’t have a wire hanging down from the tailgate...

I taped mine carefully to a strip of plastic and very very gently coaxed it through...be gentle though....then you can take it across the top of the headlining to the left hand side....you can then gently slide it behind the panels where they meet the headlining....all the way to the front....

My front camera sits really subtly to the left of the passenger mirror... you really have to look for it to see it....

Take your time.... enjoy!

As Farmer Chalk says above it is easy to hide cables under edges of roof lining , pillar and floor covering.

See these posts (my post here is for a camera similar set up)

The forum has lots of advice on Dashcams
