On the Money Saving Expert site, Leigh Day Solicitors are suggesting similar claims can be pursued by JLR owners, if their vehicle was made between 2007-2018. I was of the belief the dieselgate issue only concerned VAR Group vehicles?
Is there any mileage in Leigh Days claims, or are they simply jumping on the bandwagon. I believe they have a bit of a reputation for making claims for pretty much anything in the public domain - accident claims, medical malpractice, personal injury and so on.

I doubt it will affect the Freelander as it never had Euro6 engine, that seems to be the criteria my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Volkswagen to pay out £193m in 'dieselgate' settlement to 90,000 claimants in England & Wales

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-61581251

The claim, which lawyers said would have been the biggest ever brought by a group of consumers in the UK, was due to go to trial in January 2023.

I’ve had a letter from the solicitors regarding my claim on 2014 Tiguan, .

Leigh Day sent me instructions that the amounts and details of the claim should not be disclosed (as is usual in this kind of case) for threat of counter litigation from the VW Group post settlement……..maybe delete your post Thumbs Up Regards

Leigh Day are the lawyers that have been successful in settling my claim (and thousands of others), I cannot disclose how much but it is substantially more than has been already mentioned here. Regards

I’ve had a letter from the solicitors regarding my claim on 2014 Tiguan, they will be sending a cheque for £x in due course.

Its in the public domain surely. £193milion between 91000 claimants is about £2120 each less costs. Jules

It is the specific individual payouts which are subject to publication restrictions, probably because of the precise reasons shown here some have larger payouts than others Wink

I had communication from the lawyers which stated what was in the public/press announcement and that is what we as the plaintiffs can reveal to stay within the bounds of the action. Regards

The case was already decided, I wonder if the VW team have secured the lowest payout they could.

What do you think should more have been awarded

Son's Leon Mk2 FR is 12 years old, only done 65K miles - its in very good nick and runs well (after he had a bespoke remap to solve the performance issues caused by the so-called VAG fix that removed the defeat programming).
His payout has covered the remap and a recent electrical fault too, so he's happy.
He has no intention to sell the car yet. Jules

Of course they secured the lowest payment they could, that was their job……and the job of the plaintiff’s lawyers was to secure the fairest compensation they could.

Not sure I understand what you meant really? Regards

What's been the turnaround time for you guys who have successfully claimed? I've just claimed for my 10 plate FL2 TD4e which I kept for 3 years on PCP.

Nothing to lose by trying. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I’m of a same mind as The Doctor - what’s to lose? Typed registration into one of the claims sites and it said mine qualified on a 63 plate. I’d previously been of the belief the dieselgate claims were only for VW group but it seems not. Will read the T&C of any ot the claims companies carefully though before committing
