What other vehicles use FL2 suspension, engine and gearbox parts etc.?
I believe the engine is found in some Transit vans and Volvos but Ive no idea which models and year.

When searching for parts (especially as they get more difficult to find in the future) it maybe be necessary to enquire at the local Volvo or Ford dealers instead.

Definitely not a Transit engine, only the Defender used a version of the Transit engine.

I buy oil and fuel filter from peugeot citroen (half price nearly) for the same part

timing belt and water pump also.

6 speed Aisin autobox is used by plenty of car manufacturers

the other parts (transmission and suspension) is specific to Land rover I believe

Mine uses the Ford 2.0 litre turbo ecoboost petrol engine. If you lift the rubber on the roof rack cross bars, Volvo stamped on the back. The 12 volt power outlets in the car have a Ford stamp on them but they would buy them off the shelf down the road. Original starter battery from Exide. Engine air filter from Mann Filter. Headlights from Philips. Airbags from Takata! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Jules seeing as the list contains only 2.2 TD engines from the joint manufacturers that funded the engine I would consider it is pretty accurate including the Outlander, Wikipedia just happens to be an ideal source to copy and paste. Though the basic engine is listed one should be careful in ordering some engine parts as JLR modified some parts which also appeared in some of the higher performance Fords.
Though the basic platform is Ford Mondeo the FL2 platform is strengthened, you are not going to get the FL2 towbar weights on the basic platform nor do the other deritive SUV's of the platform have the same loads and capabilities of the FL2 my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The Freel2 is based on the Volvo S80.

Volvo calls it a P3.

I own both

2010 S80 3.2
2008 LR2 3.2

For the petrol version there are a lot of interchangeable parts.

Volvo parts on my LR2 3.2

- Haldex filter
- Haldex fluid
- Rear diff drain/fill plug with a magnet
- Radiator Fan assembly


Land Rover parts on my S80 3.2

- Coolant hoses (two different ones)
- Thermostat
- Motor mounts
- Power steering pump O-ring
- intake manifold gaskets

I agree - that’s why I specifically said the list was from Wikipedia so that others could make up their own mind about its accuracy or completeness. But I added the Mitsubishi Outlander as a friend has one and I discovered it’s the same engine.

Since I just picked up these from Volvo (right next door to the JLR dealer that's nearest me):

2008 LR2 3.2L w/Haldex 3 system:

AOC Filter kit- 30787687
Fluid - 31367941 1 litre bottle ( JLR tubes are 300 ml each and expensive as heck)
Picked up Haldex pump motor o ring kit from Ebay but pretty sure the Volvo Haldex 3 pump motor o rings are the same.

This will be my second Haldex service since owning the LR2 just under a year ago and that time I bought the Haldex fluid from LR and the two 300ml tubes alone cost as much as I spent at Volvo this week for 400ml more fluid and the filter.

The rear view mirror housing on my 2013 FL2 is made by Ford and also used on the Jaguar XF.

I only know this because when I bought my FL2 half the housing was in the glovebox and I just thought the dealer must have accidentally left it in there as it was stamped FoMoCo, and after I looked up the part number realised it was indeed missing from my rear view mirror, and now fitted ok.

Surely, the title of this post should be “Which parts from other vehicles is FL2 using?"
Just asking...  I've decided to stop being a good example and will now just be a terrible warning.....
