If neither of those options work then get a massive hammer |

Keep going until you get to a wrecking ball. Alternatively you could try warming the disc up with a blowtorch. Directly between each wheel stud is the best position to do this. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

The local (and very good) mechanic who looks after my car refuses to use large hammers on discs as he says it can damage the wheel bearings. When one of mine stuck recently he cut it off somehow - not sure exactly how. |

I had the same problem when I came to change mine a couple of months ago, after much beating and bashing, I resorted to putting a couple of M10 bolts with nuts & washers through the calliper fixing holes and used those (with 2 x 17mm spanners) to push them off a bit at a time.

I used an angle grinder and cut from the outer edge for 2 1/2 to 3 inch. Chisel in the cut, hit with hammer, disk will crack down to the hub and fall off. Puts a lot less stress on the wheel bearing. Mine, Saab convertible

Thanks for all the reply's, retaining screw was removed, and large hammer will try jacking screws. |

140,000 miles, 8 years old and time to replace the front discs. What an absolute pig of a job, 2 hours with a sledge hammer and still stuck! I am going to try the bolt trick as nothing else is working. If this fails it's out with the grinder!! |
