On youtube, 9 out of ten people are slagging off the new Defender as it's not authentic and an overpriced posh replica.
However, if you look at the price of second hand Defenders in Spain you'd be flabbergasted by the price of old high mileage examples. A car that is keeping it's value. But if you look at them, they are very basic and agricultural, and in the end were a rip off with a LR badge on. A farmer's 4x4 that can be seen chugging around posh districts of many UK cities now. It's the kettle calling the pot black.
I sat in and got a good look at the new Defender at the 2019 LR Party meeting in the huge Les Comes off road park (40 miles from Barcelona). It feels REALLY well made and tough and follows the new LR design strategy. Time to move on.
Going back to the topic, the logical step is to build 3 versions corresponding to the 90, 110 and 130 old Defender. So, that may give us the smaller Freelander but called the Defender Sport as was toted here.
