Tail light not working, not bulb related

Hi chaps, as the title says really, driving home from work early this morning and got the old oi mate your tail light’s out. No worries thinks I as I bought two last time and had a spare in the boot. Removed the OSR cluster, changed the offending article for a nice shiny new one, turned on the lights and nothing! Checked brake lights all good but still no tail light. Having bought bulbs that were no good out of the packet before, I swapped the 2 sides over and sure as eggs is eggs, it works on the NS and the previously working NS is no longer working in the OS. Now starting to pull my hair out as no garages/auto electricians open on Sunday and I have work again tonight. I’ve done a search and found a couple of threads none of which show a resolution so, anyone have any ideas where I can start and what I can try?
Regards
Dave.

yep, my first thought too, all shiny and none lost their springiness, just trying a hard reset at the minute as on most electrical gremlins this seems to be the first port of call.

More info, bulb briefly flashed on after hard reset then went out again, maybe a broken wire/bad earth but without the electrickery knowledge and test items that's as far as I can go I think, looks like a trip to an auto electrician in the morning and a slightly dodgy trip to work tonight, if anyone can think of anything else I can try I'd be eternally grateful.

For anyone that's interested, turned out to be one of those horrible little easily overlooked problems quickly and easily solved. Turns out the new Lucas bulb I was using was indeed faulty in that both the tail and brake elements were coming on with the tail lights! this was confusing the CJB which is a box of trickery taking the place of fuses. Also, may be of help to someone in the same situation, once the CJB has tripped it has to be reset in order to try again, quite simply cycle the ignition on and off without starting and it will clear, there is a video online from powerful uk showing how. I’d guess it’s Central Junction Box? Regards

I have an issue with my nsr fog light in that it doesn't work but the bulb does when swapped to the osr lamp. I wonder if this is a similar issue? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
