Gauges turn off - transmission fault and HDC fault

Hi all

First post and i need some help!

2007 FL2 GS 2.2 auto.

Engine starts and runs fine. When driving, 'transmission fault' 'HDC inactive' shows and all the gauges (RPM-speed-fuel and temp) drop to the bottom them comes back on.

This can happen whilst driving and doesn't effect the driving at all.

-No codes stored
-Battery test shows 'good battery'
-Haldex fluid level correct.

Any suggestions?

TIA

I’d probably go over all the connectors to the various fuse boxes especially the one in the footwell.
There is a whole thread around what turned out to be a faulty earth lead which had broken down internally, and gave all kinds of weird symptoms including failure of the instrument pack and intermittent running. This led to the extra earth lead modification, basically a heavy duty cable run between the battery negative terminal and a bolt on the starter motor giving an extra earth path, and worth doing if not already done.

Thank you Bob

I did see the ole earth lead mod but seeing as I didn't have starting issues I didn't think it would effect it.

Spent many of hours last night scrolling through the earth cable mod...will definitely give it a go Smile

It’s a no brainier few quid to buy about 20 minutes to put it on and that included a bit of filing of the battery box because I went for the extra heavy duty cable.
