Evoque tailgate light strip

Powerful Uk are now selling their light strip for the Evoque.
I seem to recall Simon mentioning a while back when he did one for the RR Sport that he had one planned for the Evoque and that he may do one for the Freelander 2 as well.
I like it and reckon it'd look good on the Freelander 2 with the 2010 + tailgate handle.

I changed my handle to the 2010+ model because I had some rust (which I fixed), and the original was on it's way out. I think it's really smart on an all black model, not as smart looking with my colour.

CJOver. Yes, I remember putting this to Simon when he did the one for the RR Sport last year. IIRC there have been others who have asked, so if there's enough interest, he may start manufacturing them.

I'm having a look at COB strips with a decent IP rating at the moment, see if I can find something suitable that doesn't cost £200. Been looking at a form of rear DRL and this, suitably dimmed, would work a treat.

Long list of other projects to complete first though, so don't anyone hold their breath! Laughing Current driveway contents:

If one of these strip lights costs £200, then someone is making a lot of money.
Red LED strip costs a couple of USD per metre shipped from China.
Obviously there's some work in designing a suitable enclosure to house the LEDs which actually looks good in the daytime, but the actual making it light up part isn't expensive at all.

One thing that bugs me about modern cars is the cost of wireless (Qi) charging. The controller unit and coils are manufactured for less than 1 USD, yet vehicle manufacturers charge hundreds of £ for Qi charging to be optioned. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
