Right running 235-60-18 but want to run some



chunky 235-65-17 on winter wheels anyone running these and any issues with rubbing

235/65/17 is a standard fitment so there shouldn't be any issue. I have that size myself.

I use the online tyre size calculator a lot, it's terrific for checking what kind of ET you can use with different rim and tyre combinations. Have fun.

Yeah, biggest problem will be noise. But it won't be too bad. Oh, and a drop in mpg.


Incidentally , I ran MT's on my Freelander 1 for a short time - maybe 2-3 months, but had to remove them.
The tyre noise noise would resonate through the roll cage at around 30mph and cause a sort of high pitched humming. This would get worse up to it's peak at 37MPH. If, for some reason you held it at 37MPH, then within 30 seconds this resonance would cause headaches and nausea. I kid you not. Must be something to do with the shape and acoustics of the 3 door as did it on both .

Steve, at that size they're around 3mm taller than my 265/60/18's. How are they at rubbing the rear of the front wheel arch on lock ? Mine rub if on lock and the suspension is being compressed. Thought it would be more pronounced with taller MT tyres.
