Intermittent infotainment (825 MW Meridian System)

I have a '64 registered UK Spec Metropolis Model (similar to HSE Luxury) with the 825 MW Meridian Infotainment System. I have owned the car for 4 years now and the car has done 30,000 miles.

Over the past few weeks the infotainment system keeps stopping. When I say stopping I mean that CDs, radio or downloaded music will just pause for no reason. The best thing I can do to get things going again is to press the mode button on the steering wheel and scroll all the way through to the mode I want again which will then restart. Obviously this is not ideal. I think the problem has also manifested itself on the Sat Nav as well.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this?

The car had a battery change at Halfords a few months ago but, to be fair, the problem seems to have started much more recently than that.

From memory I went for the Yuasa 12v Silver Battery HSB110 , which the AA man who advised me, said was probably superior quality to the original Land Rover fit battery.

Anyone ideas as to what might be wrong would be greatly appreciated , the car is due to go into Guy Salmon Bristol for it's next service soon but Guy Salmon solutions can be expensive! gj100

Thanks SYFL2, sounds a good thing to try, but, confession time, I don't know how to do a hard reset!

Is it easy?

This is from another thread.

Disconnect both negative and positive leads from the battery. Arrange for the positive and negative leads to connect together and leave them like that for a few minutes. The pause allows charge held by any capacitors in the system to discharge. Disconnect the leads from each other then reconnect the positive lead to the battery, then the negative lead to the battery. You'll probably have to reprogram the window end points and might need to set up the radio stations. The vehicle mileage will still be there though any trip, average speed and fuel consumption data will have zeroed.
