Help! Front electric memory seat issue

Hi all,

Go easy just got my freelander 2 last week. 2010 model.

I have an issue with the front electric memory seat. I have full working control of seat tilt, seat raise and thigh support movement but the forwards/backwards will only move approx. 1-2 inches. It sounds like the relay stops. The motor seems to be working as normal for the 1-2 inches it will move then nothing! The ecu control box circuit board looks intact and I can’t see any damage to the board, all fuses working.

Any ideas!!!??

Thanks in advance,

I have checked my (memory) seats and the driver's moves about 5 inches fore and aft.
Have you checked for obstructions in the rails, underneath, or alongside next to central consul.

PS please fill in details of car in your profile as it helps sorting out problems. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Does it make any “crunching” noise when going back and forth?

Mine did and seemed very slow, I cleaned the screw thread which was covered in sand (it looked like) and the seat moves easily now and I swear more movement. Regards

David
