FoMoCo trailer tow module

Hi, all

Can anyone confirm whether or not the TTM is re- programmable, please ?? I'm having a problem at the moment with a second-hand unit, purchased with towbar and LandRover twin electrics wiring. Had no problems with the fitting of both bar and electrics, and arranged for a local indy to update the software. That took about ten minutes, but when I got back home and connected to the caravan in order to test it, nothing worked. So back to the indy, where they tried and tried to get it functional, with no success. In fact, every time they tried to initialise the ttm, it stopped the car from starting !! Theories as to why this should happen varied from possibly a blown fuse to a break in the wiring to the ttm not being re-programmable.

As you can appreciate, any ideas/knowledge will be very much appreciated

As far as I know it's the car that is programmed to accept the trailer module not the module that is programmed.

the only way I can think that the trailer module would stop the car from starting is if it was interfering with the can-bus signal.
