Hi,
put some pictures in my gallery (from Iphone) so there on the side
I have gone onto each picture and "rotated" each one and saved the picture, prompt says ok to close
but when I check my gallery they are still on there side
if I click onto the picture it enlarges and rotates as saved but still on its side in my gallery and on there side in the forum thread

What am I not doing to be able to show correct way in the thread

I rotated a picture for someone on page 3 of this thread.

I did it by saving a separate copy of the edited file and using that to upload. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

This still seems to be a bug. Portrait pics uploaded to the Freel2 gallery resolutely refuse to rotate but the same image uploaded to the Disco3 gallery from the same source displays correctly.

If you go into your gallery and select the image their is a rotate option.



If you select that you get some rotate options

Yes, I know. And it doesn't work. Which is why I'm resurrecting this thread as I found dozens of instances of this when I did a search earlier and it's never been resolved.

At least it doesn't work for photos taken in portrait on my phone. It may be something to do with the aspect ratio as phones tend to present more of a "widescreen" view than the previously common 16:9, but the fact that two forums run by Martin on the same basic framework behave differently (and I am far from alone having this problem on Freel2) needs a bit of investigation.

PC, laptop, tablet, all recognise the orientation of the pics in various photo software, whether MS, Android or third party. Martin's other sites also recognise the orientation. Freel2 a) doesn't recognise it and b) says "ok, you can save that now" on rotation, then proceeds to provide the same incorrect image.


I'll ping Martin. My suspicion is that the aspect ratio will prove to be the key to the behaviour. Current driveway contents:
