pre 2013 facelift when the LED signature strip and multi LED round DRL came in, the headlights were 2 separate bulbs... 1 for dipped (Halogen, Xenon or AFS) and 1 for main.

after 2013 they all went to a single bulb for both dipped and main, and were either HB3 Halogen or Xenon.

So if going for post 2013 (last facelift) its the HiD equipped models to go for without doubt.

Before that though......I am still a bit confused......if the pre 2013 had the round LED DRL surely that was in the place of the main beam reflector and that still had to have a Bi-Xenon/Halogen projector? Unless I read your explanation wrong, which I often do! Regards

no DRL up until 2013, the gap where the main beam used to be is now taken up by the multi LED round DRL, saved them redesigning the headlight entirely to cut costs but resulted in a crap single filament Halogen that barely lit up the headlight washers !!

Just to add I was amazed just how excellent the headlamps are on the FL2, we picked it up at about 4pm in Peterborough and drove home that evening so a lot of the journey was pitch black.

The dip beams are like any other HiD dip, very bright and a nice sharp cut off, the main beam (combined HiD and aux H7 main reflector lamp) was a shock, better than the Bi-Xenon set up on the FFRR we previously sold, that was a very pleasant surprise  Regards
