Just had 2 new dancing shoes put on my freelander, the company put the new ones on the front but I always thought with the freelander new shoes had to be put on the rear. I'm I correct

No VCU on FL2 to worry about. Personally, I always put the new tyres to the front, as invariably they are the ones doing all the work.... |

Best thing for a 4WD car is changing all round even at Ā£380 a corner Iāve never scrimpped! The rubber is the only contact you have with the road and good brakes help MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Rubbish. A true permanent 4WD maybe, but not a Freelander 2.

All manufacturers and fitting companies say new tyres on the back. So do the AA: https://www.theaa.com/driving-advice/safety/car-tyres. The FL2 is essentially a front-wheel-drive car most of the time. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I disagree. If the drive wheels are (predominantly) to the front, common sense would suggest that tyres with the most tread (read grip) should be on the driving axle? You don't need to have a BSc in Physics to figure that one out. |

Tyre Safety Council advice is always to fit the new tyres to the back, because having worn (but still easily legal) tyres on the back could lead to a loss of control when braking in the wet.

Fitting to the front makes sense - that where the snow chains are supposed to go - so most grip to the front where possible |

Hi just spoke to Greens Land Rover in Haverfordwest they say it doesnāt matter which axle as long as there is no more than 6mm difference between front and rear and that the freelander is basically a front wheel drive, so they should go onto the steering axle. So now confused as the AA say rear axle. |

Personally if Greens told me to put them on the front I would immediately stick them on the back !!!
