United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Auto Barolo Black
Auto knob stuck in.

Hi all,
I'd be grateful if someone can help, you see I bought a 2008 Freelander auto recently as a treat for myself because I don't have much time left (Cancer)
My problem is simple, the button on my auto shift is stuck in, I can pull the gator down and remove the knob easy enough, but the white plastic bit that should 'pop back up' doesn't. I know from a bit of research that the spring is probably broken. Can anyone please tell me in layman's terms how to gain access to the spring and how to replace it.
Many thanks

Thank you very much for such a swift reply. After all the money I've spent on it in the last 4 months (rear wheel bearing, rear brakes and now a new transfer box) £30.00 isn't going to break me or the bank.
Thank you
Marcus

Am I right in thinking that the spring is in the gear knob and not under the 'white plastic bit' ?
