Door latch costs

the front passenger door lock on my 2012 was playing up since I picked the car up. Sometimes it would unlock on single press of the key fob, sometimes double press and sometimes a couple more.
All the other locks opened on single press as I had set them to do.

Dealer has replaced the door latch mechanism, no arguments there. But ive just had a phone call from the warranty company that have provided the warranty through the dealer (Warranty Wise) advising me the claim has been authorised and did I want the money to pay the garage or did they pay the garage direct. Naturally I said just pay the garage which she was happy with.

The bill for the latch was £265 incl VAT which sounds a hell of a lot to me... how much does a new latch cost? around £60 ?

doesn't affect me or my wallet in any way, just curious on what the garages mark up is as they do seem to be a very good garage.

I imagine there's at least an hour or two of labour involved there which won't be cheap. To be honest I'd be reasonably pleased if I was given that bill after having pretty much anything replaced on my car! FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

yeh were sat in the showroom for about 2 hours as the external parts department they use had sent the wrong latch at first.

However it wasn't exactly a bad place to sit for 2 hours Very Happy

they have a track only Ferrari of some description which they store for a customer, along with about 5 other Ferrari's of different models, Bentley Continental GT, 2 mint Jaguar XJS (hard top and soft top), a V12 E type, Aston Martins, a couple of very nice Mercs AMG 63's, a new Honda NSX + more .........and that was just indoors. There was a whole raft of FFRR, RRS, D4,D5, Audi RS6 etc outside.

But the absolute beast was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta 70th Anniversary limited edition, but this one is unique in that Niki Lauda has signed it as a 1/1 with various modfications to the standard 70th editions. The dealer paid £350k at auction for it and has already turned down a £1.1m offer !
