Is it a a 'whine' or is it 'wine'? If it's the latter, then I suggest you drink the wine and the 'whine' will mysteriously disappear! -------------------------------------------------------------

Might be something vibrating that cant vibrate when it is squashed down with something heavy. Try putting various weights in in different positions to see when/where it stops.

If you suspect tyres, change the pressures radically for a short run and see if the noise disappears. Regards
