Driver's door not unlocking 2013 SD4 HSE

I have an intermittent fault where I go to open the driver's door from the outside after pressing the remote button and it's locked even though all the other doors are unlocked. I press the remote again and it unlocks.

It doesn't happen every time and I have also noticed that when the doors lock automatically when I drive off, the driver's door lock button moves but doesn't move far enough for it to be flush with the door handle. Again, this is intermittent.

It's as if it needs lubricating but I have no idea how or where to spray silicone spray, if indeed that's the correct lubricant.

good luck with getting "loads" of help on this one Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I wish I could advise you, I had locking problems and still have http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic33511.html , so I would guess from what little I know, its a new mechanism or cheaper than that a new motor in that mechanism. I got a whole new lock mechanism off ebay for £26, but failed to manage to fit it.

I tried a good blast of silicone spray right on locking mechanism on the side of the door, I actually now don't think this is of any use.

Mine locks but not first time, I am going to live with it, your problem sounds more awkward/serious . . . so consider a whole mechanism , if you are handy give it a go, stripping the door is fairly easy, I could NOT get window released from the regulator, you can watch this bloke on youtube (2 parts to this) but he glosses over the releasing of the glass bit.

part 1

part 2

so bearing in mind this fella can strip and fit in about 15 minutes, should take a good mechanic less than an hour to fix and if you get (like me a £26 part) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-LAND-ROVER-...1438.l2649 . . . . . 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -
