I'm due for a service and my warranty has now expired so I'm not tied to main dealers anymore. I wondered if anyone can recommend an independent in the south-east Wales (I'm in Torfaen) area?

When I lived in Cardiff I used Promec 4X4 just west of Cardiff near Groes Faen. They had a good reputation and prices were reasonable.

A colleague with a D4 uses Promec with no issues - don't expect anything in terms of a courtesy car though is all the feedback I can give from there.
There is also HBH Automotive nr Caerphilly, not used them myself but I know Hugh and Julia Haines from old (my first LR was bought from Julia - an old 2a SWB truck cab). Andrew

BG Land Rover just outside of Monmouth are good. I've been using them for a couple of years as have friends with no complaints at all. The distance from Torfaen a bit less than from Gloucester and free loan car makes that very possible.

Thanks very much everyone, some excellent sounding suggestions there and Monmouth is only 25 minutes from me so will definitely give BG a shout.

Promec are excellent, if a bit disorganised! They have looked after my FL2 2010 and my pals 2008, very well, they are ut in the sticks abit, as far as courtesy cars are concerned I have had same ropy old FL1 and a small hatchbakc that had been around the world several times!
However, they did the job and the work done on my car is excellent and no where near as eye wateringly expensive as say Stratstone in cardiff!

A little bit further than BG but there is Dinedor cross garage in Hereford LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.
