Ireland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue
How to check on upgrades/recall work

So... Just four more days until the new family member arrives. Very Happy

Not so sure now that it is a pucker “09” model as it still has the grey light clusters and orange indicators but they seem to complement the Baltic Blue colour well, so no complaints.

Wanted to ask you all (if it turns out to have been manufactured a good few months back and has been sitting collecting bird droppings in Dublin ever since, as now seems likely) if you know how to determine whether work relating to some of the issues raised on this Forum (e.g. Software Upgrades; B pillar replacements; PTC heater recall work; etc.) has been carried out - or if it’s still required.

I’m sure the Dealer will prep the vehicle properly but I just wondered if there’s a way of double checking these issues. Are they recorded in a Log Book?

Thanks for your help. Thumbs Up

the PTC update is required under LR policy to have been done prior to the sale of the vehicle

regarding the B pillar, only time will tell, as i don't think there has been a 100% fix

the software update are normally done, if there has been issues or TSB recalls Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for that npinks.

Just got the pre-delivery jitters I guess.

I suppose I'm a little concerned that things here are not always done as well as they are back in the USSK and it would be good to be able to check what has, or has not, been done.

It's a good Dealership, though, and this is my third purchase with them so I guess I will just trust them to do their job.

As regards to whether a vehicle has been stood after being made a few months ago, when I visited the Halewood factory a couple of weeks ago there were plenty of new FL2,s parked up. I was told that these vehicles had been odered by customers or dealers and that vehiclles are only built to order either by a customer or dealer, not to be stockpiled.

Should also be visible at the bottom of the front windscreen, either left or right hand side depending which side your steeering wheel is on.
