Flat tyre over the weekend , and while had wheel off had a quick peek at the handbrake shoes. Not good! Looks like they're pushing against the sides of the drum and wearing away nicely. Would explain the couple of point drop in MPG and barely any handbrake!




Where you guys getting the whole kit from these days?

From everything i've read on here i should get - Shoes, springs, Expander/pivot/lever (whatever you want to call it) Anything else i should get while I'm at it?

Ah went and ordered, so now's the que for the cheaper prices from everyone to start rolling in

Shoes (britpart cheap ones) + 2 levers + spring kit.

BritishParts, LRDirect, Britcar, Famous4, Island4x4 were the online places that actually stocked all the items that i wanted.

Island4x4 came in the cheapest with overseas shipping. £56 + £26p&p.

How are your cables looking? mine were split so change them too

Clean and grease the adjuster,I put the sliding bracket on the wire wheel and greased it up before refitting .the springs and cups took a bit of fitting,easier with two pair of hands.good luck.bob
