Hi. I have a Freelander 2 2014 Dynamic. Recently, when you press the remote to unlock, there is a double 'beep' from under the bonnet. I know there is a sound when you double lock using the remote but I don't think there should be a sound when you unlock (there never has been until now). Any suggestions?

I have had this, apparently there is a software fix for it or you can just disconnect your battery and do a hard reset. As my car was shortly due for a service I just left it and the dealer fixed it. They said that they had "reset the locking mechanism". I recall that someone on the forum reckoned that it arises when there is a certain set of circumstances of locking the car with doors or boot open or something like that. What seems to be happening is that the alarm is supposed to come on after the doors are locked but due to a timing issue it gets there a fraction early hence the beep which normally means that a door is open. I guess the software fix is to introduce a short delay in the alarm coming on. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

A garage will not offer that I think but get them to clear the fault. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
