Well, my Freelander 2 is still going strong, but if I had to replace it, it's still one of the best designs at Land Rover.
All the present edgeless chassis aren't cutting it for me.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

Firstly , there is life outside Land Rover

My old boss had a great saying , “ you can’t defeat financial gravity “ , and that is the truth if you are buying with your head . No matter what . If you are buying with your heart , well that is another thing . I’m not emotive when it comes to parting with cash .

The trade buy in price , is at any given time the base intrinsic value in the car that is advertised , irrespective of whatever price the buyer has just paid .

As Bob pointed out earlier , the trade in price is not real as it’s a trade against another fictitious price , the only thing that matters is the “cost to change “ .

I’m not even convinced by Parker’s private sale prices as they are predicated upon someone being willing to pay ( in the case of the car similar to the one in this thread ) £19k . Don’t know about you guys but I’d certainly not hand over the best part of twenty grand to buy a 5 year old car from any old joe .

The real test of the 5 year old car advertised at £24,000 would be to ask the dealer to quote you for a 3 year PCP and see what guaranteed residual value they would quote . I’d wager it won’t be much . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

2023 Toyota Hilux invincible X 2.8 Auto .

I like in the traders description they say they are a long established family firm, and then go on to say

"why pay main dealer price" Rolling with laughter [/b] Regards

My point was the price they are asking is most likely ABOVE what a main dealer would charge.

Anyhoo......what’s wrong with a bag of chips? Laughing Regards
