Snappa, you can retrospectively report a RTC to the Filth. The only time you could try this would be if the guy failed to show you insurance. Even then they might try telling you to get lost.

Even reporting it at the time doeswn't mean they will attend. All Forces have differing policies, but on the whole, if there are no injuries, no road blockage etc then they won't be coming to the party. You can insist all you like, but the most they will do is log it on their incident computer.

That said, if you were lucky enough to be in a category that is deserving of their time, all they would do is fill in a statistical form, with car details, passengers etc. They would not officially commit to proportioning blame. After all they were not there when it happened, is the arguement.

The only time they might take an interest is if the driving is reckless, drunk or drugs. After all they have their brownie points to score with those criteria.

Essentially, the Filth see attending a RTC as being akin to an unpaid insurance clerk. They would argue, it's not their job to say who pays what in essentially a civil case of damage, not the best use of public money, they are only there to enforce the RT laws.

Here is a good question for you. If you are alone, driving a car along a rural road, say, late at night and you hit and kill a pedestrian. You have no phone and there is no one about, what do you do? I'll tell you in a later post what you can do, it will surprise you.

Mrs G had a prang in Leeds a few years ago, she cheekily cut infront of an approaching car and the chav in the other car sped up then swerved into her, it was an obvious injury claim set up job but the police wouldnt attend as nobody was seriously injured, even though Mr chav was moaning about whiplash and his girlfriend suddenly decided she was pregnant. At work

CG just reinforced the point. Years ago, it was different, but not now. Personally, I think the service most of us get from any of the government services is appauling.

Anyway, you can leave the scene of the accident, corpse and all, without prosecution. There are one or two caveats. If anyone wants I can explain.

Well he paid for me to go get a brand new wheel and trim fitted, so that's on now. I also have the one that came off it and other than the scratch on it, it's ok. Yes I know that but at least if there is a prob later on you can tell your insurance that you notified the cops and they gave you an incident number.

I have some 19" tyres off my D3 alloys but not sure what size they are

My D3 tyres are 255 so will be no good

There's the guy on here that put D3 tyres on his FL2 and says it was ok, but I'd be hesitant about only putting one on, even if just for the spare!! I'm in Digby incidentally, about a third of the way from Sleaford to Lincoln.
