Put your £600 a year in a coffee jar. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

I also have LR extended warranty ( only just renewed), presently at 89k. It gives me peace of mind, even if there is no claim (none for past 2 years) Not even thinking of resale value, which will plummet as the years go on. I feel the same as you, the car is ideal for me, does all I want, and presently know of no practical replacement (I also tow a caravan). Electric is not an option. Hybrid is possible but the costs are astronomical. Best to keep the FL2 until it’s demise or at least until we stop caravanning.

I toyed with the idea when mine got to 3 years old, then decided to do the above and stick it in the bank. So far, it has cost me one set of rear pads, one set of Conti's 4 years ago, and as of Friday, a new battery. Nothing else. I figure I'm nearly £3k better off as a result, so should something drastic like the rear diff/PTU fail, then I'm well in credit if I get Bell Engineering to replace it. |

Had the same dilemma today. Nothing that really appeals to me and happy to run her till she turns into Kinversand(LRC 609).

Having recently been on that voyage of discovery called "shall I replace the FL2 and if so what with ?" I decided to pay for the extended warranty (I know how expensive these cars are when they go wrong) and keep it for another year in the hope that LR bring out a petrol engined vehicle to my liking. I still think that electric cars are not quite there yet and that euro 6 diesels are the end of the road as far as I am concerned. (oil dilution, balance shaft wear etc) 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
