Headlamp washers, fitting ?

Hi, I've just bought my first LR2 and am now looking at what I can do to it modification wise.
Looking on here there are lots of options. But one question I can't find is...Can you retro fit headlamp Powerwash and is it a simple case of fitting into bumper and joining the tubing to the existing screenwash tubing or are motors involved ?
thanks.

Welcome Howsey,

From observing my headlamp washers in action, I would say there are 2 separate pumps installed in the reservoir as the windscreen and headlamp washers seem to work independently of each other.

IMHO I would think twice about fitting this mod in that I really don't see the benefit of the headlamp washers, that is unless your headlights are absolutely caked in mud or snow when they would have some functional benefit but general day to day road grime doesn't seem to be removed by the washers. Just my opinion.

There is a raft of other easier mods to undertake on your freelie and most are listed with "how to's" and parts required etc. in the Modifications section.

Enjoy your freelie and crank your wallet open as once you start it becomes quite addictive.... MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Yes. two pumps and the headlamp one is a high powered pump with both driven via onboard relays. Not a mod with any great visual impact but plenty of bother Neutral

Thanks Dave.
I think I'll leave that mod then. As you say, loads of other mods to do. I don't get the car until Wednesday and I'm already thinking what I can do to it, may be best to just live with it for a couple of weeks first !

Even more complicated the headlamp wash alternates side to side whilst washing. Presumably so that lighting isn't diminished too much.
