Front power socket - strange occurrence.

My front power socket hasn't worked for over 12 months. Originally the fuse blew. Then it worked for around 3 days before it went again. Fused changed but it never worked again - until today.
The other half bought me an iCarsoft LR V2.0 for Christmas, so I decided to try it out. Found a few faults relating to the infotainment and things like dash not picking up signals etc - nothing that serious.
However, since clearing some of the faults I was surprised to notice the front power socket was lit up. I was even more surprised to find out that it was working.
Ok, so what could have caused something that's been dead, to suddenly power up and work ?

I'm electrically illiterate so this may be easily explained, so don't go too hard on me.

in the circuit diagram the socket is switched by the aux circuit relay (R101) and fed by "BATT A" in the central electronics module, so clearing some faults could make it work.
I sometimes get intermittent door lock problems, I clear all faults in the BCM and all is good for year or so.

Cheers for that. With my limited knowledge of "electrickery", I wondered whether that was the case.
It also threw up faults such as the abs signal not being picked up by the dash module (or something along those lines), but when I cleared those faults, the HDC inop message came on the dash along with it's warning light. Had to go in and clear that. All seems fine now. Car also seems more responsive - but that could just be a placebo effect !!

I find you get various communication faults which I have been told is that there are so many computers they don't always talk or listen to each other properly,
