I bought the original cross bars, but cheaper copy of the rails. I have spent more time than it's worth fixing them up. Also lost a front plastic cover & had to buy another set of 4. The OEM plastic covers are better made than the copies I originally had, so I would suggest that the same goes for the rails in general. I also had a bolt snap as well while in Western Australia. Luckily I had the tools to fix it but had to find bolts, Teflon tape for sealing & round file in the Outback........ not easy stuff! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The original cross bars have the Land Rover logo on the end of both plastic cover plates. I believe the copies may not have the logo. But I could be wrong! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The genuine LR roof cross bars are made by Thule (as are a lot of manufacturer branded ones) so are expected to be top quality. |
