My bet would be an aircon compressor bearing failure. |

Have you had it back to a dealer yet - I am curious to hear what the problem was - an aircon should not pack up like this on a brand new vehicle. |

When I bought mine it had 900miles on the clock and a noisey air con - the clutch was replaced at 1500miles under warranty. So mileage and age have nothing to do with reliability in this instance. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

My 07 developed a noisy pump and also the fan gave a metallic vibration sound. All cured by a regas. The refrigerant extracted was only 160gwith oil down to 5ml, and the regas topped up to 750g refrigerant and 15ml oil. The low pressure was obviously making the pump and fan work off their duty point ( pressure vs flow). Now all nice and quiet.

Hello, id like to ask if someone could tell me why my lr2 07years model, inside cabin the fan starts to have noise and it sounds like metallic noise and sometimes it depends that kind of RPM i use on car. I have to stop whole fan and start again, but still the metallic sound comes back. is it possible that its on the low pressure what you have told? recently i went to AC service, there was only 10g of left and now it was filled back to 750 may this cause some harm to fan / ac system |

I have just started getting this noise too. Switch a/c on and it starts. Turn to econ and it stops. Should I try a regas first or am I looking at a new compressor (is this the same as the pump?)? |

My 10 developed the same noisy pump and the fan gave a metallic vibration sound, like other people here.

Mines making the same noise after the dealer refilled yesterday, 6 months old and 7k miles. So clearly being new doesn't matter!!
